Hanoi:Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam met with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas at the Grand Serail. EU Ambassador to Lebanon, Sandra De Waele, was also present along with an accompanying delegation.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, Prime Minister Salam expressed gratitude to the European Union for its ongoing support to Lebanon. He reiterated the government's dedication to implementing necessary reforms and strengthening state institutions.

The discussions focused on developments in southern Lebanon and stressed the importance of continuing with the trilateral framework's implementation. This framework is based on reciprocity and phased execution, with a definitive timetable and verification mechanism for commitments.

Furthermore, the meeting highlighted the significance of maintaining an international force following the end of UNIFIL's mandate. There was also an emphasis on the need for sustained international support for the Lebanese Army to extend state authority across Lebanon, ensure stability, and facilitate the return of displaced residents to their homes.
