Beirut: Prime Minister, Dr. Nawaf Salam, on Monday received at the Grand Serail, former minister and Head of Lebanon's Economic Bodies, Mohammad Choucair, President of the Lebanese-Syrian Business Council, Khalil al-Arab, and a delegation of council members, in the presence of Minister of Economy and Trade Dr. Amer Bisat. The meeting concentrated on strengthening economic cooperation between Lebanon and Syria, with an emphasis on addressing private sector challenges and creating favorable conditions for bilateral trade and investment.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Premier Salam highlighted the need to activate the Lebanese-Syrian Business Council's role, aiming to transform it into a platform for enhancing trade exchange, promoting joint investments, and facilitating Lebanese exports and transit through Syria. The discussions also touched on improving cooperation in the transport and energy sectors, with a view to unlocking new opportunities for the private sector and benefiting the economies of both nations.

Choucair presented Premier Salam with a document proposing measures deemed essential by the council to advance bilateral economic cooperation, aligning with the interests of Lebanon and Syria.
