PM Nawaf Salam Instructs Immediate Publication of Amnesty Law in Official Gazette

Beirut: Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam, on Friday contacted by phone President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, to express his appreciation for signing the long-awaited general amnesty law. In this context, Premier Salam instructed the relevant departments at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers to publish the law today in a special issue of the Official Gazette.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, this step marks a significant development in the governmental efforts to address past grievances and promote national unity. The general amnesty law, which has been a subject of prolonged discussions, aims to provide relief to individuals affected by past legal actions under specific circumstances. The prompt publication in the Official Gazette ensures that the law comes into immediate effect, facilitating its implementation across the nation.
