According to National News Agency - Lebanon, following the initial meeting with Pope Leo, the Prime Minister engaged in discussions with Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, and Vatican Under-Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations, Monsignor Mihaita Blaj, at the Secretariat of State. The Holy See Press Office released a statement indicating that the conversations were cordial and highlighted the positive relations between the Vatican and Sudan.
The discussions acknowledged the local Church's contribution to the well-being of Sudan and addressed the severe crisis that has afflicted the country for the past three years.
