Pope Leo XIV and Aram I to Meet for First Time at Vatican City

Vatican city: National News Agency correspondent at the Vatican City has learned from the Holy See Press Office that a first meeting will take place between Pope Leo XIV and Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Apostolic Church, at the Vatican.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, a private meeting and a prayer service are scheduled to be held in the Chapel of Pope Urban VIII. Tomorrow, Monday, May 18, His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Cilicia, will visit Pope Leo XIV, who confirmed that this will be the first official visit by a Catholicos to Pope Leo XIV. The private meeting will be followed by a prayer gathering at the chapel inside the Apostolic Palace.

His Holiness Aram I will also visit the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity and other departments of the Roman Curia. On May 19, the Catholicos will deliver a public lecture at the Pontifical Oriental Institute on the challenges facing the Churches in the Middle East.
