Annaya: Pope Leo XIV and his accompanying delegation have just arrived at the entrance of St. Maron Monastery in Annaya, greeted by the ringing of church bells.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the Pope was received by the Superior General of the Lebanese Maronite Order, Abbot Hadi Mahfouz, and the monastery’s head, Father Milad Tarabay. The arrival marked a significant moment as the Pope’s visit was anticipated by many.
The Pope was then escorted to the tomb of Saint Charbel, where he was joined by President General Joseph Aoun and his wife, Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, former President Michel Sleiman and his wife, MPs Simon Abi Ramia and Ziad Hawat. The event was attended by several prominent figures and monks of the monastery, highlighting the importance of the visit.
