Beirut: Prime Minister, Dr. Nawaf Salam, on Tuesday received at the Grand Serail, the Executive Director of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, in the presence of Minister of Public Health, Dr. Rakan Nasser Al-Din. Dr. Ihekweazu affirmed the World Health Organization’s support for the healthcare sector in Lebanon, highlighting the level of ongoing cooperation and continued support, particularly through the arrival of three planes carrying medical aid.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Premier Salam thanked the World Health Organization for its support, and noted during the meeting that “Israel’s targeting of medical teams in the south constitutes war crimes, as do the attacks on journalists and civilians.”
