Beirut:President Joseph Aoun met with Public Works and Transport Minister Fayez Rasamny to review the current status of Lebanon's air and maritime facilities. They discussed ongoing projects aimed at developing these sectors and the implementation of measures to facilitate operations and movement.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, the meeting included updates on the progress at Ren© Mouawad Airport in Kleyat, which is preparing to commence flight operations soon.
Additionally, President Aoun had a separate meeting with Technology and Artificial Intelligence Minister Kamal Shehadeh. He emphasized the significance of establishing the ministry as a key step toward adapting to global technological transformations, which will position Lebanon competitively in the digital and knowledge economy.
Aoun highlighted that investment in technology and artificial intelligence is crucial for improving public services, enhancing transparency, and creating opportunities for Lebanese youth. It is seen as a means to support innovation, stimulate economic growth, attract investment, and build a modern state that leverages digital technology for good governance, quality of life improvements, and strengthening Lebanon's regional role in knowledge and technology.
