Beirut: President General Joseph Aoun, upon bidding farewell to Pope Leo XIV at Beirut Airport, expressed gratitude and hope as he addressed the Pope. “Your Holiness, this visit will remain etched in the memory of Lebanon and its people,” Aoun stated, emphasizing the significance of the Pope’s presence in Lebanon.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Aoun further remarked on the resilience and faith of the Lebanese people. “Our people are a people of faith who reject death and exile,” he said, highlighting the enduring spirit of the nation. He assured the Pope that Lebanon had heard his message and would continue to embody it. Aoun concluded by expressing the hope that Lebanon would always remain in the Pope’s prayers.
