Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, held a phone call with Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, congratulating him on the successful completion of Iraq’s parliamentary elections in an atmosphere of stability and security.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the President wished him success in forming a new government that would continue Iraq’s path of progress, prosperity, and reassurance.

President Aoun also renewed his condolences to President Rashid over the passing of his brother, Shahmal Jamal, praying for mercy upon his soul and strength for his family.
