Beirut:President Joseph Aoun held several meetings on Thursday addressing security, tourism, and regional issues. According to the National News Agency - Lebanon, Aoun met with Defense Minister Major General Michel Menassa to discuss the security situation in Lebanon, with a focus on the South amid ongoing Israeli attacks. They also reviewed the conditions and needs of the Lebanese Army. In another meeting, Aoun received Jordanian Tourism Minister Imad Hijazin, Tourism Minister Laura Lahoud Khazen, and Jordanian Ambassador Walid Abdelrahman Jafal Al-Hadid. Hijazin informed Aoun about Jordan's celebrations of 2,000 years since the baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan River, under the theme "Jordan, Dawn of Christianity." The talks included Lebanon's role as a "land of holiness" and potential joint activities. Additionally, Aoun met with former US Ambassador to Lebanon Ryan Crocker and a delegation from the Middle East Broadcasting Networks, comprising CEO Jeffrey Gedmin and Editor-in-Chief Leila Bazzi. The y discussed Lebanon's stance on domestic and regional developments, particularly the situation in the South and the implementation of the US-sponsored framework agreement with Israel. Aoun highlighted Israel's failure to fulfill its commitments under the agreement.
