Baabda: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, welcomed key figures at the Baabda Presidential Palace to discuss significant diplomatic and digital cooperation initiatives. The President first met with Ambassador Ramez Dimashkieh, Chairman of the Lebanese-Palestinian Dialogue Committee, who updated him on the ongoing discussions with the Palestinian side. These talks focus on implementing the agreement reached during the recent Lebanese-Palestinian summit between President Aoun and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, President Aoun also received Dr. Hajar El-Haddaoui, Director General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO). Dr. El-Haddaoui expressed gratitude for Lebanon’s intention to join the organization, emphasizing that this move will foster new partnerships for Lebanon. He urged cooperation in launching initiatives and plans to speed up digital transformation, which could lead to a new wave of opportunities.

President Aoun commended Dr. El-Haddaoui’s efforts to enhance the organization’s activities for the benefit of its member countries and their citizens. During the visit, Dr. El-Haddaoui presented President Aoun with the organization’s shield as a token of appreciation.

Dr. El-Haddaoui later participated in a meeting with President Aoun and a delegation from the Lebanese Executives Council, led by Rabih Al-Amin. Al-Amin expressed gratitude to President Aoun for his support and attendance at the Digital Government Conference, ‘Smart Government: Diaspora Expertise for Lebanon,’ held at the Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut. He presented the conference’s recommendations to President Aoun, offering the Council’s resources and expertise to assist in digital governance.

President Aoun acknowledged the significance of transitioning to digital governance and praised the Council’s efforts in this field.
