Baabda: President Joseph Aoun conducted a series of significant meetings at Baabda Presidential Palace, focusing on the prevailing situation in Lebanon and regional developments. These discussions involved a range of ministerial and political figures, emphasizing the nation’s current challenges and diplomatic relations.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, President Aoun’s engagements included a meeting with the Minister of Culture, Dr. Ghassan Salameh. They deliberated on Lebanon’s situation in the context of continuing security developments and their potential outcomes. This meeting underscored the government’s focus on addressing ongoing security concerns.

In another key meeting, President Aoun met with MP Wael Abou Faour to discuss both local and regional issues. Their conversation revolved around the broader situation affecting Lebanon, highlighting the interconnectedness of local and international affairs on the country’s stability.

President Aoun also engaged with MP Dr. Ghassan Skaff, who shared insights from his recent trip to the United States. Skaff’s debriefing provided the President with a perspective on international views regarding Lebanon’s current state and potential avenues for support.

Diplomatic discussions were also on the agenda, as President Aoun welcomed the German Ambassador to Lebanon, Kurt-George Stoeckl-Stillfried, accompanied by Colonel Kai Zimmermann. The ambassador updated the President on Germany’s support for the Lebanese Army, which includes providing crucial equipment for forces being deployed to the South and additional demining and protection devices. This aid reflects Germany’s commitment to supporting Lebanon’s military and humanitarian efforts.

President Aoun expressed gratitude for Germany’s assistance and discussed the implications of the Israeli-Iranian conflict, its impact on Lebanon, and the importance of UNIFIL’s continued presence in the south. In a separate meeting, President Aoun received a delegation from the family of the late Nouhad Al-Shami, further indicating the President’s engagement with various community and familial concerns within the nation.
