Baabda: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, held a series of meetings at Baabda Palace to discuss various national and international matters. On Monday, he met with Alice Abu Khalil, a member of the National Assembly of Quebec, to explore ways to enhance Lebanese-Canadian relations across multiple fields.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, MP Abu Khalil briefed President Aoun on the status of the Lebanese community in Quebec, particularly in Montreal. Abu Khalil, originally from Blaybel in the Baabda district, expressed satisfaction with her visit to Lebanon and highlighted the significance of maintaining strong connections between Lebanese residents and the diaspora.

President Aoun also welcomed MP Firas Hamdan to Baabda Palace. They discussed the general situation in the country, focusing on recent developments in southern Lebanon. MP Hamdan noted that President Aoun's recent visit to the south conveyed a message of support and reassurance to the local residents, emphasizing the importance of state presence in the region.

Hamdan expressed support for President Aoun's initiatives aimed at facilitating the Israeli withdrawal, enabling residents to return to their homes, protecting the South, and enhancing regional stability. He also underscored the necessity of addressing economic and social challenges and expediting necessary reforms to foster economic recovery and restore confidence in Lebanon and its institutions.

Additionally, President Aoun met with MP Adib Abdel Massih, accompanied by Farid Chehab and Sami Saab. They informed the president about the "Alphabet du Monde" project, which seeks to host an international event in Lebanon, the birthplace of the alphabet. The project aims to unite art and peace through a variety of cultural, civilizational, and artistic activities.
