Kuwait City: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, began his meetings at Bayan Palace in Kuwait this evening by receiving the Charg© d’Affaires of the Lebanese Embassy in Kuwait, Ambassador Ahmed Arafa, accompanied by the embassy’s diplomatic and consular staff, in the presence of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Minister, Youssef Rajji.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Ambassador Arafa welcomed President Aoun, expressing the Lebanese community’s joy at this visit, and briefed him on the working conditions at the embassy and the situation of Lebanese expatriates residing in Kuwait.
In turn, President Aoun welcomed Ambassador Arafa and the embassy staff, congratulating them on their “efforts to enhance diplomatic and consular work and improve Lebanese-Kuwaiti relations,” highlighting the “important role played by Lebanese expatriates abroad, particularly in Kuwait.”
Aoun shed light on the government’s efforts to accelerate the country’s economic recovery, including the reforms, appointments, and laws passed by Parliament, as well as the first and second phases of the municipal and mayoral elections that have taken place so far.
Later, the President held a media meeting with the acting director of the Kuwait News Agency, Mohammed Rashid Al-Mannai.
