Baabda: Baabda Presidential Palace witnessed a series of meetings addressing ministerial and cultural issues. President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, was briefed by Telecommunications Minister, Charles Hajj, on the achievements of the ministry in 2025. The strategy focused on implementing Law 431 and enhancing services for citizens and businesses through improved performance of the ministry's directorates and affiliated institutions, budget reviews, and redefined investment priorities.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Hajj reported that mobile telecommunications revenues rose to $534 million in 2025, up from $493 million in 2024. This increase occurred despite capital expenditure reaching $55.1 million in 2025, compared to $14.2 million the previous year, with investment funding secured without tariff increases.

President Aoun also met with Minister of Administrative Development Fadi Makki, who discussed the general situation and challenges facing the country. Makki briefed the President on progress at the Ministry of State for Administrative Development, focusing on the 2030 initiative to restructure and modernize state departments and institutions.

In a separate meeting, President Aoun received a delegation from the Mayyas dance Group, including director Nadim Cherfan, Maroun Cherfan, and Lea Antoine Gharib, who updated him on the Group's activities. President Aoun congratulated the Group on their success, highlighting their achievements as a source of pride for Lebanon.

Additionally, President Aoun sent a cable to Swiss President Guy Parmelin, offering condolences for the victims of the Crans-Montana ski resort fire. He expressed sympathy to the Swiss people and the victims' families, commending the efforts of firefighters, rescue teams, and medical crews in responding to the disaster.
