Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, met with Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam at Baabda Palace to discuss pressing national issues, particularly focusing on the security situation in South Lebanon. The discussions come amid ongoing Israeli attacks on several southern towns and villages.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting addressed the Lebanese Army's initiatives to bolster its presence in non-occupied villages. The aim is to provide reassurance to residents and ensure the continued operation of public institutions. Furthermore, the agenda for the upcoming Cabinet session at Baabda Palace was reviewed, alongside discussions on the 2027 draft budget, which have been ongoing at the Grand Serail.
The meeting also included preparations for Prime Minister Nawaf Salam's leadership of Lebanon's delegation to the United Nations General Assembly meetings scheduled for the third week of September.
