Beirut: The Union of Lebanese Expatriate Depositors held a protest outside the Central Bank of Lebanon at 10:00 am, voicing strong opposition to the erasure of stolen deposits. The demonstrators demanded accountability and transparency in the management of depositors’ funds, emphasizing the need for financial justice and the restoration of trust in the banking system.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Caritas Lebanon, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health, organized a free medical day at Halba Maronite School in Akkar. This initiative aimed to provide accessible healthcare services to the local community, highlighting ongoing efforts to address public health needs in the region.
In the evening, the Salim Saad International Cultural Center in Ain Zhalta-Chouf hosted a lecture titled ‘Professions in Theological Perspective.’ Reverend Souheil Saoud delivered the lecture, focusing on the intersection of professional life and theological insights, attracting attendees interested in exploring ethical dimensions of various professions.
Later, Universit© La Sagesse (ULS) hosted its graduation ceremony at 7:00 pm, under the patronage of Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi. The event, celebrating ULS’s 150th anniversary, took place at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, Ashrafieh campus. Patriarch Al-Rahi delivered a speech, marking the occasion with emphasis on the university’s historical contributions to education.
