Beirut: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Raggi, on Thursday engaged in discussions with Indian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mohammad Noor Rahman Sheikh, who presented an official invitation from his Indian counterpart. The invitation was for Raggi to participate in the second meeting of foreign ministers of India and Arab countries, set to take place in New Delhi on January 31, 2026.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the discussions between Raggi and Ambassador Sheikh focused on Lebanese-Indian bilateral relations, current cooperative efforts, and potential areas for enhancement. The conversation also touched on the general situation in Lebanon. Minister Raggi acknowledged India's contribution to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), emphasizing its role in supporting security and stability in the region.

Following this meeting, Raggi held talks with Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov. The agenda included strengthening bilateral relations as well as addressing regional and international developments. The minister highlighted the robust nature of Lebanese-Russian relations and the importance of further development. He urged Moscow to leverage its influence to press Israel to cease attacks on Lebanon, withdraw from occupied territories, ensure the release of detainees, and support diplomatic resolutions, including the Lebanese government's initiative to restrict weapons to state authority.
