Raggi Meets Kuwaiti Counterpart, Affirms Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Kuwait City: Foreign Minister Youssef Raggi met with his Kuwaiti counterpart, Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, during his visit to Kuwait as part of the official delegation accompanying President Joseph Aoun. The meeting was attended by Ambassador Bader Al-Taneeb, senior officials from Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry, and Lebanon’s charg© d’affaires in Kuwait, Ambassador Ahmad Arafa.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the discussions focused on revitalizing Lebanese-Kuwaiti relations, reactivating the joint committee, and consolidating ties within the broader context of Lebanon’s return to the Arab fold under President Aoun’s leadership. Minister Raggi expressed gratitude to Kuwait for its longstanding diplomatic, economic, and financial support, encouraging Kuwaitis to visit Lebanon for tourism and investment opportunities.

Raggi also briefed his counterpart on the Lebanese government’s reform achievements in the financial and economic sectors, emphasizing Lebanon’s commitment to state sovereignty and the exclusive control of arms by the state. The discussions included topics such as Israel’s continued occupation of Lebanese territory, regional developments in Syria, U.S.-Iran negotiations, and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Raggi reaffirmed Lebanon’s support for the Palestinian cause.

The meeting concluded with Raggi praising the warm and positive atmosphere and conveying greetings to Kuwait’s leadership, thanking them for their continued support and hospitality.
