RAHI HOPES THAT MONDAY’S BINDING CONSULTATIONS WILL RESULT IN THE DESIGNATION OF A NATIONAL REFORMIST FIGURE

Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, hoped that tomorrow’s binding consultations will result in the designation of a national reformist figure who would gain the trust of the revolting people in search for real change in the country, and who would be welcomed by the Arab and international community concerned with helping Lebanon to get out of its financial hardship and collapse.

Rahi also called for facilitating the government formation process, away from the resumption of the game of conditions, the heresy of prerogatives and the conflict of powers. He reminded officials that the situation can no longer afford any further delay in initiating solutions, since the country is plunging into poverty and chaos and state institutions are on the verge of collapse.

The Patriarch’s words came as he presided over Sunday Mass at the summer patriarchal seat in Diman this morning.
