Rasamny, Land Transport Federations and Unions Tackle Sector Reform

Beirut: Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, on Monday held a meeting at the ministry with a joint delegation of land transport federations and unions, headed by Bassam Tlais. Director General of Land and Maritime Transport, Dr. Ahmad Tamer, was also in attendance. Discussions focused on a wide range of issues concerning the land transport sector in Lebanon.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the meeting aimed to assess the current challenges and identify practical steps for organizing the sector, with the goal of formulating a swift and actionable plan to improve its performance and sustainability. The discussions are part of ongoing efforts to address the operational difficulties faced by the sector and to ensure its contribution to the country’s economic framework.

The ministry emphasized the importance of collaboration between governmental bodies and transport unions to achieve the desired reforms. The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue dialogue and to implement strategies that can lead to tangible improvements in the land transport infrastructure.
