Jakarta:South Lebanon Energy and Water Minister Joe Saddi has inaugurated the upgraded central control and management system (SCADA) for the Southern Lebanon Water Establishment. The development of this system was in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
According to National news agency - Lebanon, the SCADA system allows for real-time monitoring of water production. It also facilitates the early detection of faults and leaks, improves energy efficiency, and enables quicker technical interventions, ultimately reducing operational costs and minimizing service interruptions.
ICRC Head of Delegation Agnès Dhur emphasized the importance of this partnership in sustaining essential water services, especially in areas affected by conflict.
Establishment Director General Wassim Daher noted that the project aims to enhance the reliability of water supply, operational efficiency, and maintenance planning. Daher also honored the memory of 19 establishment employees who lost their lives while on duty in recent years, reaffirming the institution's dedication to staff safety and continuous water service delivery.
