Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received a delegation of Beirut mukhtars on Saturday, following the Saqiyat al-Janzir incident. He assured them that the actions carried out by one of the security apparatuses were "condemned and cannot be justified in any way."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Prime Minister Salam stated that he had initiated all necessary contacts to ensure "disciplinary and legal measures are taken against everyone found responsible for these acts, which contradict the principles of a state based on law and institutions."

He expressed gratitude towards the mukhtars for their prompt response in exercising restraint, maintaining calm, and facilitating the reopening of roads in the capital. Salam affirmed his commitment to personally follow up on the case "until those responsible are held accountable."
