Beirut: Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, on Monday welcomed at the Grand Serail the Mufti of Tripoli and the North, Sheikh Mohammad Imam, and the Mufti of Akkar, Sheikh Zaid Zakaria.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, discussions during the meeting focused on the conditions in Tripoli and Akkar. Mufti Imam highlighted that Prime Minister Salam expressed concern for citizens’ welfare, emphasizing the urgent issue of structurally unsound buildings in Tripoli, which poses a direct threat to lives.

In a separate meeting, Prime Minister Salam also received Ambassador Simon Karam, head of the Lebanese negotiating delegation to the Mechanism Committee, to discuss related files.
