Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said in a post on platform "X" that the acts of violence perpetrated by members of a security apparatus against civilians in Saqiyat al-Janzir area this afternoon, including gunfire and the intimidation of citizens, are "unacceptable under any circumstances or pretexts."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Salam added that he has given strict orders for an immediate investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident and to take the necessary disciplinary and judicial measures against those responsible. The Prime Minister emphasized the urgency of the investigation, indicating that such actions cannot be tolerated and must be addressed promptly to ensure accountability.

In his statement, Salam also urged the citizens of Beirut to maintain calm and exercise maximum restraint to preserve the security of the capital and the safety of its residents. His message underscored the importance of community cooperation in maintaining peace and stability during this tense period.
