Salam Receives Supportive Call from Spanish Counterpart

Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received Monday a call from his Spanish counterpart, Pedro S¡nchez, who expressed "Spain's support for Lebanon and its territorial integrity, and for the decisions of the Lebanese government, particularly those related to banning Hezbollah's military activity." He also condemned the attacks on UNIFIL forces and stressed the need for a thorough investigation into these incidents.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, S¡nchez affirmed Spain's commitment to supporting the Lebanese people by allocating an additional pound 9 million in humanitarian aid. This pledge highlights Spain's dedication to aiding Lebanon during its ongoing challenges.

PM Salam expressed gratitude for Spain's support both on the humanitarian and political fronts, acknowledging its contribution to UNIFIL forces. He stressed that "the Israeli incursion into Lebanon under the pretext of establishing a buffer zone or security belt is totally unacceptable," urging Israel to cease its military operations and withdraw from all Lebanese territory.
