Beirut: Culture Minister Ghassan Salameh met with MP Bilal Abdullah, along with Chhim Mayor Tarek Shaaban and Dr. Nidal Shaaban, head of the Iqlim Al-Kharroub Festivals Committee, to discuss initiatives related to cultural heritage and tourism in the region.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, the discussions centered on the restoration and protection of the Roman Palace of Chhim. The ongoing works aim to reinforce and preserve the archaeological site to safeguard its historical significance while enhancing its cultural and tourism value.

The delegation also updated the minister on the preparations for the International Heritage Village Festival, which is scheduled for 2027. They invited him to patronize the event, describing it as a major cultural initiative designed to showcase the region's heritage and promote tourism and cultural activity in Iqlim Al-Kharroub.

Participants in the meeting reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and local authorities. They emphasized the importance of protecting Chhim's archaeological and cultural heritage and supporting initiatives that preserve Lebanon's historical legacy.
