Kleyat:Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad Hajjar led a coordination meeting to evaluate the security preparations at René Mouawad Airport in anticipation of the commencement of commercial flights planned for November.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, the meeting focused on assessing the airport's security readiness and identifying measures needed to protect the facility, ensure the safety of passengers and personnel, and secure flight operations in line with established standards.
The discussions emphasized enhancing coordination among security agencies and relevant government departments to meet the airport's operational requirements. Minister Hajjar confirmed that the Airport Security Directorate, along with other security agencies under the Interior Ministry, is fully prepared to ensure the airport’s safe and orderly operation once the necessary construction and equipment installations are complete.
The meeting included the participation of Beirut Airport Security Commander Brigadier General Fadi Kfoury, Sky Lounge Services Chairman Ziad Monla, and senior representatives from the Internal Security Forces, General Security, and Customs, as well as other security officials.
