Social Affairs Minister Commends South Lebanon’s Resilience and Pledges Support

Beirut: Minister of Social Affairs Hanine Sayyed expressed gratitude for the warm welcome she received during her recent visit to southern Lebanon. She highlighted her interactions with individuals in frontline villages who continue to maintain their presence on their land despite ongoing challenges.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Sayyed has announced financial support for over 6,000 families in the districts of Hasbaya and Marjayoun. This initiative is part of a broader government program that extends aid to more than 140,000 displaced families residing outside shelter centers, as well as 6,000 families in the villages of Bint Jbeil who remain steadfast in their homes.

Minister Sayyed underlined the importance of the resilience displayed by the people in southern Lebanon, describing it as the first line of defense against displacement. She emphasized that supporting families who continue to live in their villages is as crucial as aiding displaced families, as it enhances the likelihood of return and aids in preserving the country's social fabric.
