Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri met with former Minister Wadih El Khazen at his second presidential headquarters in Ain El Tineh. The meeting focused on the latest political and field developments, including the upcoming parliamentary elections.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, El Khazen expressed his honor in meeting with Speaker Berri, highlighting discussions on national, political, and economic issues. Key topics included the upcoming parliamentary elections, the ongoing Israeli aggression against southern Lebanon, and strategies to strengthen internal unity amid mounting national challenges.

El Khazen noted that the meeting involved a comprehensive review of the political landscape, with Speaker Berri underscoring the importance of holding parliamentary elections on their constitutionally scheduled date. Berri emphasized that elections are a national entitlement that revitalizes political life and provides Lebanese citizens the chance to express their free will in a transparent and competitive environment.

Further elaborating, El Khazen mentioned Speaker Berri’s assertion that adhering to constitutional deadlines is vital for preserving the democratic system. Berri warned that any delay or tampering with these deadlines would lead to increased division and fragmentation, especially when Lebanon requires broad national consensus to support efforts for rescue and reform.

In a separate meeting, Speaker Berri received former Minister Jean-Louis Kordahi to discuss political developments and the general situation in Lebanon.

Additionally, Speaker Berri hosted Oussama Choucair, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dar Al Ajaza Al Islamia Hospital, and board members. The visit served as an opportunity to inform Speaker Berri about the hospital’s healthcare and social services.
