Subcommittee on Banking Reform Convenes with Ministers, Central Bank Governor

Beirut: The subcommittee on the Banking Reform Law convened on Tuesday under the leadership of MP Ibrahim Kanaan. The meeting saw the participation of Finance Minister Yassine Jaber, Economy Minister Amer Bsat, Central Bank Governor Karim Souaid, and the Chair of the Banking Control Commission, Maya Dabbagh.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the meeting primarily focused on discussions surrounding the proposed Banking Reform Law. The participants aimed to address key issues and challenges within the banking sector, seeking to implement reforms that would enhance financial stability and regulatory oversight. The presence of high-profile officials underscores the importance of the meeting in shaping the future of the country’s banking system.
