TRC receives 2, 200 telecom, postal complaints during Q1 2023

The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) received 2,200 complaints on telecommunication and post services’ beneficiaries during the first quarter of 2023. In a statement on Thursday, the TRC said about 2,002 complaints were addressed and solved, at 91%, down by 23%, compared with the same period last year. Work is underway to address complaints that require a visit by TRC’s technical teams to field sites and complete coordination procedures with the companies operating in this field, the statement added. A total of 1,737 complaints pertained to Internet services, while 431 related to mobile phone services, 19 on landline services, and 13 for postal services, the statement noted. TRC Chairman, Bassam Sarhan, stressed the importance of the commission’s role in protecting beneficiaries’ interests in telecommunications, information technology and postal services fields, expressing its keenness to ensure that operating companies provide services at a “high” level and “affordable” prices.
