Al-Bajari: We will submit a proposal to impose a tax on telecommunications companies, not on citizens

The Head of the Parliamentary Transportation and Communications Committee, Zahra Al-Bajari, said today, Saturday: We will submit a proposal to impose new taxes on telecommunications companies, not on citizens.

She added in a statement, “There is a clear rejection of the government’s decision to return taxes on mobile phone recharge cards in the 2023 budget.

Al-Bajari explained: We will approach the Finance Committee, as the main body concerned with the amendments to the draft general budget law, regarding the need for citizens not to charge additional fees for mobile phone recharge cards.

She continued: The state’s financial resources should not be based on such clauses that increase the financial burdens of citizens.
