Beirut: A joint statement issued this evening by the Lebanese and French Presidencies indicated that Presidents Joseph Aoun and Emmanuel Macron held a phone conversation during which they discussed the latest developments impacting the entire region’s security situation, including friendly countries.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, due to escalating tensions, the two presidents jointly decided to postpone the international conference in support of the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces, which was scheduled for March 5th in Paris, until upcoming April.

During the call, both presidents affirmed that the gravity of the current regional situation underscores the necessity of preserving Lebanon’s stability, supporting its legitimate institutions, and ensuring the restoration of its full sovereignty.

France, Lebanon, and their partners in the Five-Member Committee will continue their efforts in this direction, the statement indicated.
