Baabda: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, held a series of significant meetings at Baabda Palace, addressing key issues with various Lebanese and Syrian officials. Among the attendees was MP Ibrahim Kanaan, chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee, with whom President Aoun discussed the upcoming Lebanese-American-Israeli meeting scheduled in Washington. This meeting is seen as crucial amid ongoing regional tensions.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, President Aoun also engaged with the “National Moderation” bloc delegation, which included MPs Mohammad Sleiman, Ahmad Al-Khair, Abdul Aziz Al-Samad, and former MP Hadi Hobeish. The discussions focused on Lebanon’s current challenges, particularly in the wake of Israeli attacks. The bloc expressed their backing of President Aoun’s positions, emphasizing unity and state-building efforts.

President Aoun also met with Syrian charg© d’affaires in Lebanon, Iyad al-Hazzaa, to discuss the bilateral relationship between Lebanon and Syria. This meeting aimed to enhance cooperation across various sectors, underscoring the importance of maintaining strong ties with neighboring countries.

MP Dr. Haidar Nasser also visited President Aoun, reaffirming support for state unity and efforts to prevent internal conflict. He emphasized the need for national unity to secure a ceasefire and advance state-building, aligning with the president’s vision.

Additionally, discussions with Charles Arbid, head of the Economic and Social Council, highlighted Lebanon’s economic challenges and the necessity of bolstering social protection measures.

In a separate development, President Aoun received a phone call from Lebanese businessman Carlos Slim, who expressed his appreciation for Aoun’s humanitarian initiatives and solidarity with the Lebanese people during these challenging times.
