Aoun Engages in Key Discussions on Security, Education, and Amnesty Law at Baabda

Baabda: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, convened a series of important meetings on Tuesday at Baabda Palace, focusing on critical issues related to politics, education, and governance, amidst the ongoing developments in Lebanon.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, a delegation from the Free Patriotic Movement engaged in discussions about Israeli attacks, the ongoing negotiations, and the proposed general amnesty law. The delegation emphasized their support for diplomatic efforts to secure a ceasefire and expressed their opposition to any actions that could undermine the presidency.

Additionally, President Aoun met with members of the parliamentary education committee. These discussions centered around the concerns regarding official exams and the various challenges currently facing Lebanon's education sector.

In another meeting, the president addressed cooperation on human rights and security governance with officials from the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF). Furthermore, Fadlo Khuri, the president of the American University of Beirut, informed Aoun that applications and registrations for the upcoming academic year had reached their highest level in 50 years.
