Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Friday met Telecommunications Minister Charles Hajj to review progress on the ministry's priority projects, including plans to rehabilitate telecommunications networks in southern Lebanon, highlighting the sector's key role in facilitating residents' return, supporting reconstruction, and reviving economic activity.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting also covered the telecommunications reform agenda, implementation of Law 431, progress in reactivating the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, and ongoing steps to launch Liban Telecom as a cornerstone of sector reform and improved governance.
Aoun stressed the need to move from planning to implementation and to complete reforms that place the telecommunications sector at the service of citizens and the economy.
