Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that the United States was making an "even bigger miscalculation" in the Strait of Hormuz following what he described as decades of "intelligence failures," Russia Today reported.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, Araghchi expressed his concerns on X, emphasizing that the United States' historical miscalculations, attributed to intelligence failures including the war on Iran, are now exacerbated by its actions in the Strait of Hormuz. He cautioned that the situation was deteriorating due to reliance on flawed intelligence.
Araghchi further criticized the US approach, stating, "Worse than fake news is fake intelligence. Be careful." He concluded his message with a declaration of faith, asserting, "God is great, greater than any power on Earth. We trust in God."
These statements were made in response to US President Donald Trump's claims on Truth Social, where he described the US naval blockade of Iran as a "Wall of Steel." Trump asserted that Iran was powerless against it, claiming the country had lost naval and air capabilities, its military forces were demoralized and unpaid, and the Iranian leadership was engulfed in chaos and uncertainty.
