Ottawa:Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Rajji, engaged with the Lebanese community in Canada at a significant reception hosted by Lebanon’s Ambassador to Canada, Bashir Tawk. The event witnessed the presence of Canadian Minister of Immigration Lena Metlege Diab and Minister of Transport Steven MacKinnon, alongside representatives from various Lebanese religious and political groups.

According to National news agency – Lebanon, Rajji emphasized gratitude towards Canada for supporting Lebanese immigrants. He articulated a vision for Lebanon as a free, sovereign nation, with the Lebanese Army as the sole armed force and state institutions holding exclusive authority on matters of war and peace.

He highlighted the exodus of Lebanese expatriates due to safety and dignity concerns but reassured that efforts to restore state authority and rebuild the nation are underway. He called upon expatriates to contribute to a Lebanon where emigration for a dignified life is unnecessary.
