Beirut: The Army Command's Orientation Directorate issued a statement this afternoon, indicating that "following surveillance and security monitoring operations, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate arrested two citizens in the Zouk Mosbeh area of Keserwan for their involvement in drug trafficking and the distribution of counterfeit currency."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, during the arrest operation, the first suspect opened fire on the patrol members, who responded in kind, resulting in his injury. The injured suspect was subsequently transferred to a hospital for treatment.

The Army patrol seized approximately one million Captagon pills, around 60 kilograms of cannabis, a military weapon, a hand grenade, and a sum of counterfeit money. The seized items have been handed over to the concerned authorities, and investigations with the two detainees have commenced under the judiciary's supervision.
