Berri: House Speaker Nabih Berri condemned the two massacres carried out by Israeli occupation aircraft in the towns of Ansar and Deir al-Zahrani on Saturday, resulting in the martyrdom of an entire family, most of them women and children.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Berri considered these massacres as part of the ongoing "genocidal war" waged by Israel's killing and destruction machine against people, property, heritage, and everything connected to human life in southern Lebanon.
The Speaker said the attacks provide conclusive evidence that Israel's political and military leadership attaches no importance to agreements, laws, or efforts aimed at ending the war and tensions in Lebanon and the wider region.
He added: "The aggression against Ansar, Deir al-Zahrani, Mansouri and the villages of Nabatieh District is a call, sealed in the blood of children and women, to all Lebanese, particularly political forces across the political spectrum, to address Israeli aggression, its repercussions and its broader implications through a national approach, away from any regional, sectarian or partisan considerations."
"It is a call to reinforce an atmosphere of national unity," Berri went on, adding, "It is also a message to the sponsors of negotiations and ceasefire agreements to assume their responsibility and work to halt the genocidal war before it is too late."
Speaker Berri concluded: "May mercy be upon the martyrs, our condolences to their families, and our prayers for the wounded for a speedy recovery."
