Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri on Thursday extended his condolences over the martyrdom of journalist Amal Khalil. For this purpose, Speaker Berri made a phone call to the family of martyr Amal Khalil, as well as to the Editor-in-Chief of Al-Akhbar newspaper, Ibrahim Al-Amin.

According to National Nws Aency - Lebanon, Berri condemned what he described as a "premeditated crime committed by the occupation forces against the media and free speech, through the targeting of martyr Amal Khalil and her colleague Zeinab Faraj." The incident has drawn attention to the risks faced by journalists in conflict zones.
