Berri Discusses Tobacco Sector and Healthcare Developments with Key Officials

Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri on Wednesday received the Board Chairman and Director General of La Regie Libanaise Des Tabacs Et Tombacs (Regie), Engineer Nassif Seklaoui, along with a delegation from the Regie Board of Directors, at the second presidency headquarters in Ain El-Tineh. During this meeting, discussions were held on Regie's work programs and preparations for receiving tobacco crops. The impact of Israeli aggression on the tobacco farming sector and the challenges faced by farmers were also addressed.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, following the meeting, Engineer Seklaoui expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet with Speaker Berri, especially as the time approaches to start receiving tobacco crops from farmers. Seklaoui stated, "We were honored to visit Speaker of Parliament, Nabih Berri, particularly as we are about to begin receiving the tobacco crops from farmers. We came to seek the Speaker's guidance and listen to his directives in this regard, as he has always been, and remains, the foremost patron and supporter of the tobacco farmers' community."

In addition to the meeting with Regie representatives, Speaker Berri met with Minister of Public Health Dr. Rakan Nasser El-Din. Their discussions centered on the general situation and recent political and field developments, with a focus on the healthcare sector and the current state of hospitals. The ministry's work programs were also a topic of conversation during this meeting.
