Beirut: House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Tuesday met former ambassador Edward Gabriel to discuss developments in Lebanon and the region.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Berri also received MP Hassan Murad, who stressed the need to build on the ceasefire to safeguard stability. Murad praised regional efforts and reaffirmed commitment to national unity, institutions, and the Taif Agreement. He rejected direct negotiations with Israel, advocating for indirect talks that ensure withdrawal and sovereignty.
Murad highlighted Berri’s role as a stabilizing figure and urged dialogue among political and religious leaders. In addition, Berri met French Ambassador Herv© Magro to review political and field developments and bilateral ties.
