Beirut: House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Wednesday met with Public Works and Transport Minister, Fayez Rasamny, at the Second Presidency headquarters in Ain el-Tineh for talks on the latest developments, the ministry's work programme and key infrastructure projects, particularly the rehabilitation of roads, bridges and other facilities damaged by Israeli attacks, especially in southern Lebanon.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, Berri also received Secretary-General of the General Union of Arab Writers and head of Egypt's Writers' Union Alaa Abdel Hady, accompanied by a delegation from the union's general secretariat and Lebanese Writers' Union President Ahmad Nazzal. Discussions focused on the union's cultural and literary activities in Lebanon, Egypt and across the Arab world.
Among Berri's visitors was former Ghazieh mayor Mohammad Samih Ghaddar, accompanied by a delegation representing the town's municipal, mukhtar, social and economic sectors.
Separately, Berri called a meeting of Parliament's Bureau for 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, at Ain el-Tineh.
