Beirut: Head of the Lebanese Economic Committees, former minister Mohammad Choucair, on Wednesday affirmed that "Lebanon is heading toward a promising phase with the launch of reconstruction and the development of infrastructure, as well as economic and service facilities," noting that "there are many opportunities and projects that can be implemented through public-private partnerships and by leveraging Emirati capabilities."

According to National news agency - Lebanon, Choucair's words came during the Lebanese-Emirati Economic Forum, hosted by the Lebanese Economic Committees at the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon. Choucair welcomed the Emirati delegation, saying that "its presence in Lebanon following the crises the country has gone through reflects the beginning of Lebanon's recovery and the restoration of the confidence of the Arab and international communities."

Choucair stressed that "the establishment of the Lebanese-Emirati Business Council, the lifting of the travel ban, culminating in the Emirati delegation's visit to Lebanon, are indicators of the strength of the fraternal ties between the two countries."

For his part, Vice President of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, stressed the importance of the call to strengthen economic cooperation, noting that "trade relations between the two countries date back to the 1970s, and that there is a desire to pave the way for increasing the volume of trade and investments between Lebanon and the UAE."

He said: "There will be a significant increase in private-sector investments across various sectors, including industry, logistics, hotels, and healthcare."
