Defense Minister Meets Ambassador Durel, Acknowledges France’s Support to Lebanon

Yarzeh: National Defense Minister Major General Michel Menassa on Monday received France's newly appointed Ambassador to Lebanon, Patrick Durel, at his Yarzeh office, for a courtesy visit upon assuming his diplomatic duties in the country.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, Minister Menassa welcomed Ambassador Durel and wished him success in his new post. Menassa thanked France for its continued support for Lebanon and the Lebanese Armed Forces across various fields, as well as for its active participation in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

The meeting also addressed arrangements for the period following the end of UNIFIL's mandate at the end of this year, as well as the conference to support the Lebanese Army, scheduled to be held in Paris on September 17 and organized by the French Republic.
