Beirut: Parliamentary Finance and Budget Committee Chairman MP Ibrahim Kanaan announced that the committee approved three draft laws during its session.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, Kanaan stated that the first draft law involves the allocation of 100 million Turkish liras to support the Lebanese Army. This move is expected to bolster the army's operational capabilities amid ongoing regional challenges.
The second draft law, as reported, pertains to the approval of a $250 million loan from the World Bank. The loan is designated for investment in renewable energy projects, signaling a significant commitment to sustainable development and energy independence for Lebanon.
Furthermore, the committee addressed salary adjustments for certain third-category employees at the Lebanese University. Kanaan highlighted that these individuals had been unfairly impacted since 2014, and the approved adjustments aim to rectify these longstanding disparities.
