Douaihy Backs State Authority, Supports Talks to End Israeli Occupation

Beirut: MP Michel Douaihy on Monday said after meeting with President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, that Lebanon's recovery depends on genuine support for state institutions and full implementation of sovereign decisions restoring state authority and public trust, notably those issued on August 5 and 7, and March 2.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the lawmaker expressed support for ongoing direct negotiations, stressing they must clearly aim to end Israeli occupation in the South and restore Lebanon's full national rights. Douaihy emphasized the importance of these talks as a pathway to reclaiming territories and ensuring sovereignty over national matters.

The discussions with President Aoun focused on reinforcing the role of state institutions, highlighting the need for unwavering commitment to decisions that reinforce national authority. Douaihy underscored the necessity of aligning national efforts to secure Lebanon's territorial integrity and promote stability through diplomatic means.
